A 22-year-old Labelle man lost his life on Sunday following a late night car accident on Interstate 75 in Fort Myers.

Initially, the man was listed in critical condition at Lee Memorial Hospital, according to a report by the Florida Highway patrol.

He was a front-seat passenger in the 2002 Chevy Camaro driven by a 20-year-old man of Labelle.

They were heading south on I-75 when he lost control of his vehicle for reasons that are still unknown at this time.

The car spun and struck the pole of an exit sign. The driver was treated for minor injuries and released.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of their accident.
